The Crime premiere

The Crime

by Katren Hepworth

Katren details the release of her exciting new novel, The Crime.

I just finished writing my new book, The Crime, last week. The book follows a girl and her family as they fight criminals. They'll face dangers such as a raging fire inside their own home, and the terror that awaits them as they struggle to survive. Will they survive? I'm not telling. You'll have to find out by sending an email to the webmaster for information. I'm requesting a payment of $.10 (USD) for my book. If I get ten people to buy my book, I'll get a dollar! I hope you'll like my story. If not, feel free to send it back and I'll give you my old book for free. I hope you'll like it.

Maybe I should tell you more of my story. But no, I won't.

If you'd like to talk to me about anything, please send it to my webmaster and he'll be able to forward it to me. Write to me about anything in your life - and remember to include the $.10 for the book (okay, let's make it $.05).

Once you're finished reading the book, please send me an email detailing all the events in the book you expected to go differently, as well as any suggestions to improve future novels. I know it's not a published work, but I really only wanted it distributed to my friends and family, anyway.

I'm just learning how to play chess, and I almost beat my Mom in the game!

Caeley and I have been deep in research! [Editor's note: the area of research was not given.] We've also made our own language to communicate with each other, and each other alone. We like using our language to have fun, like little girls should.

I'm doing very well at math. It's my birthday on March 8. If it's your birthday, tell me! Maybe I can send you a birthday card.

I'm sorry this is late [Editor's note: again!]. This will count for February's issue.

[Editor's note: this entry was taped on a cassette tape that was prone to being eaten by the player, and Caeley spent a lot of the time away from the microphone, making things difficult to hear. I've translated the best I could.]

Meeting in the Badguy's Lair: The Second Book.

Once upon a time, Mom and Kirsten and Samantha were walking. Then they met these three girls named Kit, Molly, and Addy. They asked them to be their friends. They met their moms their moms wanted to be friends, so they were friends. Then the little girls kept on walking with their moms. They saw a cave, and they said "We'll look in it later". The dads came and then zoom, zoom zoom! Mommy, Sammy, Caeley, Katren, Daddy, David, Carm, and Tiffany came zooming in.

They said, "What's the trouble"? We replied, "Nothing; we just saw this cave and we'll look at it at night." Then, it was night. Sammy got into Mommy's arms (Sammy was scared). They decided not to go in the cave. The next night, they heard on TV that all the bad guys had escaped! The family's house went on fire, so they went to the caves (even Caeley and her family; Kirsten, Addy, Molly, their moms - the whole group that they met). They went over into the caves and saw all a bunch of eyes.

Caeley screamed "Everybody, fight!" They fought the badguys, and soon they were all dead! Then the family lived in a happy village. The police came to pick up the badguys. They put them back in jail; only one person - Saddam Hussein - was alive: they put him in jail and then that was the end. The end.

If you would like more of this book, please contact the editor with your request.

I beat my mom in checkers, and I beat my sister Katren in chess.

My sister Katren lost a tooth. She also finished one of her books. She read four Judy Moody books.

I have a loose tooth. I have two grownup teeth. Katren lost seven or eight teeth. Some have been replaced with new teeth, some haven't. I'm really happy for her.

Go to The Kazette more often.

Carmella and Tiffany have come home. Well, not now; a long time ago. But, we're happy.

We have pets. We have a bird, and a hamster. The hamster belongs to Tiffany. The bird belongs to Carmella. David doesn't like the bird tweeting, but he puts it on his arm anyway. We think it's cool that the bird can put his feet on our hands. We also like holding the hamster. She's very fuzzy. She's a big hamster, but not too big.

Two neighbor boys came to church and were able to hold and pet the hamster. The older of the two was too scared to hold or kiss the hamster (which everyone else did).

As for the bird, the bird will let us hold him if we say "Up, up!". I can also snap my fingers, by the way. A little tip: don't buy your bird a mirror. The bird will stop paying attention to anyone else. So don't give the bird a mirror.

Sam thinks he's Spiderman, so we've started calling him that. Sometimes I am called "MJ", Spiderman's girlfriend Mary Jane. We were recently given a picture with our cousin sitting beside Sam who was in a Spiderman suit. The cousin's friend thought the Sam was actually Spiderman!

We got a lot of gifts on Christmas. Boxes, barrettes, even a toy motorcycle for Sam, that has interchangeable parts!

We also were able to go swimming, and we do so often.

I beat my family playing four-card Golf today. Sam was the only one spared; he was playing on the computer.
